Patrick Blonien

Ph.D. Candidate in Finance

Rice University, Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business

My main research area is financial market design. I am particularly interested in how the structure of financial markets affects the incentives of traders and exchange operators. My job market paper studies why adding a size-discovery trading protocol, where a break in the limit order book occurs to match orders at a fixed price, increases allocative efficiency in slow markets. I also have work quantifying the prevalence of information. I will be in the 2023/2024 Finance job market.
